- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I give bids for each job. If a design is required first, I charge a design fee that the even if the project doesn't go through- the; customer keeps the drawings . If I do the job, then that fee is taken off of the bid. I also do consultations for DIYers.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I read trade magazines, keep with up latest trends and code changes, take required workshops such as lead abatement and go to conferences when possible.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I fell in to the trades as a away to support myself as an artist. Now, I blend my artistry into my design and construction work.
