I called Stephen to photograph my engagement. It was a surprise and we were coming up to Geneva from PA and Stephen agreed to work with me to take the photos. He waited on a park bench and snuck out behind us into the pier and took some awesome photos! We both really appreciated his professionalism and he was right where we needed him to be and never gave it away. He also sort of guarded the pier so we could have our moment privately. We got the pictures in a timely manner and they were great. I would recommend Stephen without hesitation.Jul 30, 2019Verified

We had a great time working with Stephen. He was there when we arrived. He was very patient with us through all the photos, and allowed us to try photo ideas out as well. Very professional, and the photos turned out great. He did an awesome job capturing everything from that day. So happy that I choose him to photograph my graduation day!Jun 25, 2018Verified

Stephen did a fantastic job photographing or wedding. Not only were we thrilled with the results, we were also impressed with his patience and professionalism. He was adaptable when members of the wedding party were running late, and was able to get all of the shots we had originally asked for. He stayed at the reception well into the night and made sure we were updated on his progress with editing. All in all, Stephen is a great choice for a wallet-friendly wedding photographer.Sep 17, 2017
This photographer was great! Very friendly, kind, patient and interested in capturing what I was looking for in the photo. I was very happy with the experience and the results. I highly recommend him if you want to work with someone that will make the experience fun, yet comfortable.Feb 11, 2015
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My fee includes my professional expertise, travel time, editing time, cost of the CD/USB and postage if the customer wants the CD/USB mailed to them. I also include a print release so customers can print enlargements at a store of their choosing. If you hire me for a wedding or an engagement session, I will have a second professional photographer available to assist me. Smaller prints (5" x 7" and 8" x 10") I can print at home. I charge $5 for each 5" x 7" print and $10 for each 8" x 10" print. Matte and frame are extra. Lastly, if a client hires me to photograph their engagement session, I offer them a discount if they hire me to photograph their upcoming wedding.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First, I like to find out what type of photography they are looking for. Either candids, posed portraits, or some type of studio work where I get to control everything - lighting and the background. Then I want to work with a client on a location. And if they choose an outdoor location, depending on the time of the year, we can work together to decide on a location. Third, since we already decided on a cost for my time and services, I like to discuss with the client what sort of prints they would like and how they would like their digital images. Most of my past clients want their images on USB drives. Once the shoot is over with, I will upload proofs to my website within a few days so they can tell me which ones they would like me to retouch! The very last step is the delivery of the physical media with their images along with a print release to make enlargements.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? There are about 3 or 4 photography-based websites that I check on almost a daily basis. I read these mainly to keep informed of the latest developments with Lightroom and Photoshop. I love lynda.com and youtube. Whenever I have a question about a technique i am trying to learn, I and searching for it on lynda.com. I am a paying member to the site so I can download the practice files and follow along with the instructor. The search functionality of lynda.com is exceptional and extremely useful. Youtube is good for certain things, but one area it struggles in is ability to find exactly what you are looking for. You can spend 10 minutes trying to find something and you might still have questions. I'm also apart of Camera Rochester and have been for the past 4 years. Every month, we have a critique night where we get constructive feedback for our images that we submit. I have learned so much about composition and what makes a photo exceptional by listening to seasoned professionals. I believe my own photography has grown tremendously in the past two years and I know I will do an excellent job for my future clients.
