- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No complicated pricing. Some jobs are priced on a going rate for square footage or linear ft. Some jobs I estimate how many days myself and a helper can complete the job. I don't ask for as much per day as is recommended. I have a wife and children and I just want to have work everyday and support my family. So if I work hard, keep my prices affordable, and make customers happy, that I will always be busy.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Generally starts with talking over the phone. discuss the project. Give us a chance to feel each other out. Then usually meet in person to look over the site. we cand discuss what they are looking for. I can take measurements. Then I usually e mail and estimate for them to look over and get back to me so we can go over it and make adjustments. Then we scheduale when to do the job.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have worked our way up through the ranks to running jobs for other contractors. Being foreman. Ran many big jobs, we built houses, put together banks, schools. We did kitchens, baths, basements, Decks, trim, custom trim and woodworking.. when I look back at the completed projects I get satisfaction from knowing we did a good job.
