About
As a former military aviator and flight instructor I have learned a thing or two about attention to detail and leadership. I have brought everything I have learned in the military about doing things correctly the first time, as well as teaching others how to do the same into my construction company. We focus our attention towards the smallest aesthetic details while ensuring the structure of your home or building is safe and sound. Courtesy, communication, and cleanliness are the pillars of our customer service philosophy and I promise that all members of my team will act with honesty, integrity, and professionalism. My family has been in the construction industry for over 45 years and our in house knowledge of design, planning, materials, and installation methods ensures you are getting the absolute best! Construction is my passion and I promise to treat your home as if it were my own. If you planning on conducting any size remodeling or construction project whether commercial or residential give us a call and know that you are in good hands.

I hired Agate & Co. to tear up, replace and stain my front porch floor. From start to finish, working with Jimmy of Agate & Co. was a great experience. Jimmy came to estimate the job and did the work himself, with one helper. His price was lower than competitors. He checked in along the way, answering questions and, when necessary, making slight revisions to the original plan. He definitely knew what he was doing and had good suggestions for how to do the job. He worked for three days, including very rainy days, to complete the job. Jimmy was exactly the guy I would have wanted someone to recommend to me.

Had Jimmy do a full bathroom remodel (except tub). Worked clean, asked my input and found ways to make my ideas work (or tell me why they wouldn't). Looking to hire him again for other jobs.

Jim finished my basement, and now it's the best room in my house. My basement was completely bare, He finished the job in less then a week. Installed heat, but in a ceiling, did the walls and carpenting. I couldn't recommend any one better then the Agates

From Google
I hired Agate & Co. builders to remodel a few rooms in my recently purchased home. One word- INCREDIBLE. They were truly great every step of the way. From the first meeting where we explained our ideas and visions, to the finished product. Its more than I ever thought possible in my home. The craftsmanship and care that went into the remodel isnt something I thought could be done by someone in this generation. Plus, with the owners father working along side him, it brought in a nice old school family atmosphere with decades of experience and talent. They will be hired again when were ready to do the bathrooms!

We hired Agate & Co to remodel our kitchen. From start to finish we had a positive experience with Jimmy and his team. He guided us throughout the decision-making process and offered clever solutions which allowed us to remain in our budget. He was a clear communicator and always let us know his work schedule. He and his team were very neat and respectful of our home. We love our new kitchen! We will be hiring Agate & Co again for future projects.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every project is different. Each one requiring its own detailed estimate. Anyone who says otherwise is either trying to sell something or they don't know what they're doing.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get a full understanding for what the customer's expectations are. From there I can guide them into realizing their goals and if I can't then will let them know. I will not perform any unsafe or sub-standard work in order to meet a specific price point. I will offer suggestions as to how to remain within a desired budget. Once we find a solution then I give the customers a fully detailed scope of work outlining everything from timeline to materials. Then I get to work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
15 years of real estate and construction related experience. I am a licensed contractor in Westchester and Suffolk Counties in New York, and the state of New Jersey. I am an active real estate investor and licensed real estate agent in New York and New Jersey. I have worked on all sides of a real estate transaction which gives me a unique perspective into all facets concerning a property, not just the construction aspects. I can determine based off of experience what home renovations will statistically yield the highest increase in property value and which ones won't. I am also in the process of obtaining my Home Inspection License.
