What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our fees range from flat fees for uncontested divorces and trademark registrations to hourly rates for work on a variety of types of cases, including divorce, family law and various forms of civil litigation. We don't seek huge retainers. We recognize that the last thing anyone wants to do is spend a lot of money on lawyers.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are required to take continuing legal education courses every year in order to maintain our licenses. I look on this not as an obligation but as a good way to keep in touch with the evolution of divorce and Family Law in New York.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I'm divorced myself, and have children. I know what it means to go through the breakup of a marriage, both on an emotional and financial level. The joke back in law school was that I was only becoming an attorney in order to handle my own case.
