At Modern Day Music (MDM) the First Lesson Is Always FREE, so you know what you are getting before signing up. We want you to play the music you love, offering private lessons in all popular instruments, as well as voice. That's why we go above and beyond to find the BEST music teachers in the Capital Region—so you don't have to! Students at MDM encompass a broad range of styles from Theater to Pop and Jazz to Heavy Metal. Our team consists of trained‍‍‍ and experienced music coaches, capable of teaching all ages, levels and styles. Modern Day Music has been amazing . My 10 year old daughter started with guitar and has now switched to piano and I could not be happier with all the staff and the ease of her change. Not only is the atmosphere peaceful and relaxing , the teachers and owners are fabulous!! I can also speak on. Behalf on my niece Moriah Formica who had recorded with Paul and taken voice lessons with Leslie and played with Ben and is now part of this years season of the voice , and my nephew Gabriel Formica who also had been in a band and is playing piano and is also flourishing. So MDM would get 10 stars from every aspect

Coaches and staff are top notch and very skilled at what they do and work to easily accommodate our schedules. I have two children that attend and both have grown so much and continue to. The coaches also make the learning environment fun. The school puts on several shows throughout the year which gives students something to work for. Love this music school!!

Whether you are a beginner in search of lessons, intermediate player or professional musician looking to record, Modern Day Music has what you need. Top notch, professional instructors in all fields (vocals, guitar, bass, piano, drums) make learning fun and intuitive! Students are placed in bands and given the opportunity to perform live at a number of local venues that helps to keep the dream of being a rock star alive! A state of the art recording and practice facility is also available for those looking to take their music to the next level. For ALL things music, MDM is where it's at... You will not be disappointed!

Modern Day Music has done a great job with my daughter, she has enrolled in music lessons with Ben, She has a very hard time with strangers and new places. The first day she loved it there. We are excited to see what the future unfolds for her. I give midern music 5 stars.

Modern Day Music is such a great place for music lessons. The staff is so friendly and talented. My daughter is learning guitar. Ben is very down to earth and she says he makes learning fun. So glad we went with mdm!!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At Modern Day Music we never force anyone to learn something that they don't want to learn and only teach material that is relevant to the song or style of music they want to play. This method is what sets us apart from other teachers or schools and is the primary reason our students tend to continue ongoing music education with us. We create a comfortable and fun learning environment for our students by teaching them what they want to learn. Utilizing this method there is less pressure on them and they actually want to practice. It is the job of our teachers to make sure that while students learn what they want to learn, they also learn all the collateral theory and technique that goes into being an inte‍‍‍lligent musician...so they have the foundation to continue playing their instrument their whole life.‍‍‍
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have assembled a team of super talented music coaches who have extensive performance, touring, recording and educati‍‍‍onal experience. At the same time, our coaches are simply great people who are in many ways mentors and role models to our students. Our students look forward to the quality time they get to spend with their coaches. Our coaches have dedicated their lives to performing and teaching music and are passionate about playing themselves and teaching students how to play and perform too.
