Melvin Williams is an excellent guitar teacher. I appreciate Melvin's patience, and I like the way he explains things. He uses a variety of instructional methods to help me learn new concepts. Plus, I come away from each lesson with tips for playing the guitar and new practice goals are established for the following lesson. I highly recommend Melvin as a guitar teacher.

Details: 45 - 64 years old • No formal training; some self-taught experience • No, cannot read music • Electric • Blues • Yes, the student has an instrument • 30 minutes • Remotely (phone or internet)

Melvin was the best choice we could have made for our ceremony. He has a pure kind heart, and it shines through in his personality and music. He was more than accommodating when it came to the price and hours he would play, and when we finally had our ceremony we were blown away with his talent. Not only were we satisfied but our guests enjoyed the music and plenty of them chatted with him and mentioned how kind he was.

Details: Wedding ceremony • 26 - 50 guests • 12 years old or younger • 13 - 17 years old • 18 - 30 years old • 31 - 50 years old • 51 or older • Guitar • Vocals • Country / bluegrass • Oldies • Variety • Covers • Rock / classic rock • Outdoors

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

$30 per half hour, or $120 a month for four 1/2 hour lessons.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Start with what they know, and go from there. If they are a complete beginner, my goal is to get them playing something they can recognize ASAP!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I use the internet a lot to keep up with the latest trends, especially youtube.com. Lately I've been taking online courses through udemy and coursera.
