Wedding and Event Videography
Video image was good, but very unprofessional attitude and lack of communication from vendor.Jan 7, 2017VerifiedHarry Freedman's reply
this was not for performing comedy. this was for shooting a video for a party. I did everything the client asked and after the fact she asked for major revisions in the editing which were not included in my fee, which was already very low. She had not given any pre instructions about how she wanted the video and I felt I was being taken advantage of. I still offered to do the revisions for a very small extra amount but even though I knew I might get a bad review, I simply did not feel comfortable doing it for free. I always try to bend over backwards for my clients. I didn't feel this one was giving me a fair shake. Again, this was for a video shot, not performing comedy.
Thank you Harry for making me look like a genius for contacting you for our annual holiday party. Harry coordinated an entire show and performed with comedians Chris Roach and Davin Rosenbatt, as MC. This was the most amazing night of laughter and fun many of us have ever had at any event. You exceeded all expectations. All I can say is Talent! Talent! Talent!Dec 19, 2014Verified
Harry was a pleasure to work with. From the beginning the communication was top notch! Harry and his opening comedian "Dennis" performed for our all volunteer fire company banquet and kept the crowd engaged and laughing! Highly recommend!!Oct 12, 2014Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My corporate Put-on Fee for a large business event is substantially higher then my fee for straight standup comedy for a private function or club work. I am a known entity in the Corporate Market for my talents as a Put-on and command a fair but pretty good fee. However, I am open to offers for situations where a company is local and has a legitimately smaller budget. My fee for personal toasts and roasts is also reasonable, considering I am writing original material for each such event but will be higher then my normal fee for straight stand-up comedy. I try to find out as much as I can from the client before putting out a price but sometimes that's not doable. I try to work with the client to find something that's mutually acceptable so I'm not underselling myself but also trying to make it work when possible with each client.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I gather as much information about each event I possibly can. I try to get the lay of the land, the room set-up, the audience make-up, the reason for the event, and if I'm personalizing or customizing, some specific information about individuals or honorees. If it's a corporate event, I ask for as much info about the company or industry and it's top issues and I also do homework on my own to create original material.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I combine over 35 years as a professional comedian, and 29 as a corporate put-on comedian, with my ability to act like a supreme expert in any industry, or a convincing guest giving a toast at a private function. I have a BA in history so I am avid about keeping up with current events which helps my material stay fresh for Stand-up, and I love creating customized humor for each special event. I have also taken studied acting in New York with some of the best coaches in the city to help me hone my performance skills. My years of experience at Fortune 1000 corporate functions, and top rated TV shows, as well as opening for big-name acts at major theaters have given me a great sense of understanding what it takes to succeed in a wide variety of high level show business situations.
