As new homeowners, we wanted to get our fireplace and chimney inspected and cleaned. Joe came over at his earliest convenience and took a look. To our surprise, everything looked great and no work was needed. He was honest and knowledgeable and did not charge us anything despite taking the time to commute to us. You won't be dissatisfied if you contract with this company! I neededmy chimney swept and wood stove ready for winter. They only allow 3/5 suggested compliments ... or I would have Chosen ALL of them!! Joe was not only quick to respond professionally but his work exceeded my expectations. He was also very neat and cleaned up like no one was here. I'm addition to exceptional work, he is one of the BEST people I have ever met!!! I will be calling him back year after year. We were VERY fortunate to find Gold Medal Chimney! Joe, the owner, is truly amazing and the nicest guy, and he came right out when we needed him. We recently moved into a new home, and the builder had not installed a cap on our chimney. Coming from California, where chimneys by law need to have caps, we didn't realize that our new home did not have a chimney cap installed! That is until one evening when we heard birds chirping inside our chimney. Yes. We had attracted the elusive (and apparently very lucky) chimney swifts. Well, as we quickly discovered, once we had the lucky birds in our chimney, by law, we had to just wait until they decided to leave on their own. But in the meantime, Joe was kind enough to come out to our home and take a look at our chimney. He was very thorough, and he designed and fabricated a custom chimney cap for us that is BEAUTIFUL. Then, he delivered it to us, and patiently waited until the birds had left. He actually came by a few times to check on the chimney for us. Finally, when the birds had left, he returned, installed the custom chimney cap for us, and cleaned out our chimney for us so that it was clean as new. The chimney cap he made for us is custom-painted with a special heat resistant paint, and he made sure it had extra clearance for air circulation. It also comes with a lifetime warranty. Joe also does all kinds of chimney maintenance, so if you have any chimney questions, give him a call! I'm definitely glad I did.
