Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
We have a competitive General Home Inspection price, but we also offer package pricing at reduced rates and at great savings to the clients. We offer Rural and City packages at discounted rates. Most clients/buyers will have some ancillary services performed, such as Radon Testing, Water Quality Test, Wood Destroying Insect Inspection or a Septic Dye Test, since most of those if found defective, will be corrected or covered by the seller.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
For me it was a natural progression, since I was in a building maintenance/management business since 1981. I was a residential building manager in NYC - Trump Plaza, later after moving to this area a maintenance manager of multiple residences of Springbrook in Oneonta area, then went on my own as a self employed home improvement contractor and builder, and eventually home inspector. So I have been in the field for over 30 years.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would recommend that they review inspector's references, and make sure that the inspector is NY State licensed.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish that that the customers knew that NYS Licensed Home Inspectors are highly trained professionals, who continually improve and advance their skill and knowledge by many hours of CE, as well as specialized training in every aspect of modern construction and building science, through national and local inspector's organizations. When you hire a licensed home inspector, you hire a professional who is trained to look for deficiencies and defects that are not obvious to most observers - simply said, we know what to look for.
