Fishing trip type
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: The Codfather is based out of Freeport Long Island, New York off of the Nautical Mile (Woodcleft Ave), on the scenic South Shore of LI; you can fish and also enjoy the shops, seafood restaurants, gambling ships, fishmongers and boating around the freeport Merrick and Point Lookout areas. We fish and catch fish year-round going after the bite. Break your cabin fever with winter tog, herring and early season flounder to the spring runs of mackerel with the blues and stripers chasing them north to Summer Fluke, Weakfish, Sharks and Canyon trips to LI's incredible fall run of striped bass gorged on baitfish heading south. From inshore and backbay fluke, flounder and stripers to offshore tuna and sharks, from the Woodcleft Canal and Jones Inlet to the Hudson Canyon into the Atlantic Ocean, from heart-pumping top-water action blitzing striped bass and bluefish over a flock of working birds to quietly picking away at a mixed bag of black sea bass, blackfish and porgies bottom fishing over choice wrecks and reefs. We have extensive expertise and experience along with exclusive "spots" to help our clients reel in the fish. Captain Mike Barnett has fished all his life and has been a full-time charter captain for over a decade and knows how to choose the right baits and tackle and where to head to get the catch. Fishermen, tourists and vacationers can drive to the charter boat from anywhere in L.I. by car or take public transportation on the MTA LIRR or bus to freeport where it's just a short ride down to the water and the nautical mile. So, if you want to really catch fish and enjoy an experience to remember, give Mike and the Codfather a call, and he'll show you what a saltwater fishing charter with years of experience can do for you! Winter, spring, summer, fall Long Island year-round saltwater fishing at its best!
