FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically spend the first couple minutes of the first session getting to know the student on a personal level (their hobbies and interests), and then we will work through a couple problems so I can sense of the way the student approaches problem sets, his/her confidence when answering, and skills they need to work on.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked at Mathnasium and became Mathnasium-certified to tutor K-12 students in 2020, and worked with numerous students on improving their basic math skills in addition to the curriculum they learned at school. As well, I volunteered for a number of years at my high school to tutor students in math, anywhere from the 6th grade curriculum to Calculus 3 and Differential Equations. Lastly, I have been private tutoring since November 2020 and have worked with 15+ students ages 4-18, many of which ended up thriving in their math classes and discovered a newfound passion for the subject.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages who attend private and public schools not only in North Carolina, but in Colorado, Virginia, New York, and other areas across the country online. Some students look to catch up on their school work, while others strive to get ahead and finish the curriculum well before their class starts learning it; in either scenario, I craft my sessions to meet each student's needs at a pace they're comfortable with.
