FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is always transparent and based on the actual scope of work — no surprises. Every project begins with a zoning/feasibility review so you know exactly what is allowed and what drawings or approvals are required. Once the scope is clear, I provide a fixed fee that covers all architectural work needed for your permit or design phase. I don’t charge for the initial consultation, and I never add hidden fees. If the project expands or changes, I explain the options and pricing before any additional work begins. My goal is to give you a clear, predictable cost from start to finish so you can move forward with confidence.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process is simple, clear, and designed to give you answers quickly. Initial Call / Message I start by understanding your goals, timeline, and any challenges. I also explain what zoning or building code requirements may apply to your project. Zoning & Feasibility Check Before any design work begins, I review the property’s zoning, setbacks, allowable square footage, and any restrictions. This ensures your project is realistic and approvable before you invest further. Clear Scope & Fixed Fee Proposal Once the scope is defined, I provide a written proposal with a fixed fee, timeline, and all deliverables so you know exactly what to expect. Site Visit & Measurements For most projects, I visit the property to take measurements, photos, and verify existing conditions. Design & Revisions I prepare conceptual designs or permit drawings (depending on your needs) and revise them based on your feedback until everything is aligned. Permit Submission Support I prepare all required architectural drawings and help guide you through the permit process so your project moves forward smoothly.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’m a licensed architect (NY, NJ, CT) with formal training in architectural design, building codes, zoning regulations, and construction documentation. I hold a professional architecture degree and have over 20 years of experience preparing permit drawings, zoning analyses, feasibility studies, and design concepts for residential and commercial projects. My background includes extensive work with New York, New Jersey, Connecticut building departments, which means I understand local codes, approval processes, and what each municipality requires to get a project approved quickly and correctly. I stay current with building code updates, zoning changes, and best practices so every project is designed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance.
