As a Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims consultant, I assist clients in the filing and appeal of LTD claims. I analyze their policies to determine how each policy defines disability, as there are countless definitions, and the claim documentation provided must meet each policy's definition in order for the claimant to be found eligible for benefits. I work with my clients (and not for my clients) in completing claim forms and gathering medical records and other documentation to help them avoid the unknown pitfalls that can often result in claim denials.
This means, I do not do the claim for them but work with them very closely, providing the guidance and options along the way, but they are an integral part of the process, and we do not do anything they do not feel comfortable with.
Having headed up a claims department and specifically specializing in disability for a major insurance company, I have an insider's claim knowledge of how insurance companies work and how claims are handled.
Over 95% of my client's claims have been approved. Many of these claimants have received benefits totaling several million dollars.
My goal is to get the benefits the clients are entitled to and the peace of mind they deserve. The claim filing process is difficult for everyone but particularly those facing a disability which is typically a terrifying and unimaginable future.
I work to level the playing field for them. Long-term disability claimants often face a period of transition; we help facilitate that process. Once the transition is made, they often find there are new options that can enable them to maintain their dignity and a quality lifestyle. With initiative and guidance, many find and enjoy the meaningful new opportunities for a new, challenging and equally fulfilling life.
