Miyuki-Sensei is awesome, she has lesson plans for general learning or JLPT Prep, but can adjust to more contemporary everyday Japanese lessons. Also I love her drawings when she needs to explain a location or cultural thing about Japan. Definitely, a must have Japanese Teacher.

Miyuki Sensei is an excellent teacher. I've been taking lessons from her for over 5 years. Her explanations are clear, and she helps to find interesting, level-appropriate materials for learning. She has greatly improved my Japanese conversation skills and worked with me to pass the JLPT (two levels so far!). I met Miyuki san through a mutual friend. I was looking for a Japanese teacher and our friend happened to be visiting NY and was spending the day with Miyuki. What luck! Miyuki has been a delightful teacher. She is kind, very knowledgeable and has the patience of a saint! Miyuki also tailors the lessons to my needs. We follow a book, but do so much more. If you need something in particular, Miyuki san manages to find the perfect activity.

I really enjoy these lessons, and appreciate the pace and patience Miyuki sensei has. I love how she remembers many details of my life and adjust things to suit my learning style. I never feel rushed or embarrassed if I don’t know or remember something. I think that days where she provides/show slides are the most enjoyable and those are the lessons that stick best. I love Miyuki sensei’s enthusiasm and smiles, it makes my day a little happier especially after a long day.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I use Zoom for lessons. Cancellations / Rescheduling made at least 24 hours in advance are free of charge. For cancellations / Rescheduling within 24 hours, a 50% fee applies. No-show will be charged the full amount.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1) Schedule a free trial Lesson Let me know your current Japanese level as thoroughly as possible so we can make the trial lesson as beneficial as possible. 2) Free trial Lesson Day We’ll start by discussing your goals and whether you have any timeframe in mind for studying Japanese. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask. After that, we’ll move on to a short free trial lesson. 3) Booking Your Next Lesson If you enjoyed the trial, we’ll set a date for your next lesson and confirm the payment method—Stripe, Zelle or Check is preferred. 4) Lesson Confirmation After confirming your payment, I’ll send you the Zoom link for your lesson.
