- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For my stump grinding services I charge by the actual measured diameter of the stump. Standard service prices start at $5.00 per inch for grinding stump along with all surface roots and then raking all grindings to neat pile. Aditional services like completely removing grindings from property is figured on job by job basis. Screened topsoil and grass seed installation are also figured on job by job basis. EVERY JOB HAS WRITEN ESTIMATE BEFORE WORK STARTS.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically the way I do work starts of with customer contacts me with work they want completed. I meet with the customer at job location preferably, we discuss work to be preformed. I make sure I completely understand what the customer wants done. I make sure I completely write down exactly what the customer expects. Then I go through my procedure of figuring out the estimate. Each job has different ways of getting the completed estimate together. On some of the more simple straight forward jobs I am able to measure the job and provide my written estimate within just a few minutes. On some more in depth and detailed jobs I have to figure out totals for items like materials, labor hours, delivery of materials, disposal of wastes and so on. This can take little more time depending on size of project to be preformed. After estimate is prepared and written up I meet with the customer to present the estimate and go over it to be certain that both customer and I are both in agreement of work to be done, materials to be used, and what finall out come is to be. If everything is correct and we both FULLY understand what is on estimate I leave the decision to the customer and give them time to think about proposal. If the customer decided to go forward with the work then we sign the estimate papers and schedule dates and time to begin the work. After completing the entire job and customer gets time to review the work I performed we make full and total payment.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As far as training for me I have worked in and around the tree service industry for approximately 10+ years. In working with several certified arborists, tree removal companies, property management company I was able to learn all different aspects of tree removal including stump grinding.
