Kevin was wonderful. He officiated my daughters wedding and he was awesome. He knew all the answers to our questions. He was very flexible and didn't mind when my daughter wanted things done a certain way. He was punctual at rehearsal and day of wedding. We received so many compliments on what a wonderful ceremony he performed. She did the unity cross, something Kevin was not familiar with, he researched it and did a great job explaining it. I would definatly recommend him.Sep 25, 2018Verified
Kevin officiated my wedding on October 14th, 2017, and he was absolutely everything I hoped for. He was punctual (he was *early,* actually, based on a last-minute request I made on the morning of the ceremony), he was professional, and his calm demeanor was the cornerstone of the day. We chose him because he had the sense of humor, the sincerity, and the heart that we needed to define our special day, and he delivered way beyond our expectations.Oct 15, 2017Verified
I cannot say enough about Kevin. From day one he worked with us, going over the script for our vows, adding or taking away stuff that we wanted or whatever. We had some weird requests and Kevin had no issues doing what we asked. He even went above and beyond and added hand movements and voices to enhance the experience. The guests at our wedding couldn't says enough about Kevin. We were lucky to have him officiate our wedding. He made our day that much special. He will never be forgotten.Jul 22, 2017Verified
Kevin was very responsive from the beginning. He was flexible all throughout the creation of the wedding vows for my bride and groom. He arrived early at the wedding venue and that is the best thing a wedding officiant can do to minimize unnecessary stress! He is a respectful officiant who can make the ceremony of your dreams happen! Grateful for his presence and will hire again in a heart beat!Oct 16, 2017Verified
As an officiant, Kevin has two jobs. The first is to assist in creating and performing the ceremony. Long before the "big day" we met with Kevin and discussed what we wanted to include and what we didn't want to include. He was then able to present us with a rough script that we edited to our heart's content and gave back to him a few weeks before the ceremony. He accommodated all of our subtle and quirky changes with nothing more than a small chuckle. He arrived half an hour before the event to make sure everything was in order, did what he was there to do, and then took off. The second job is to handle the paperwork aspect of the wedding. When we first met with Kevin we asked, and he assured us, that he would "take care of all the paperwork". Sadly this was not actually the case. If Kevin mentioned at this meeting that it was our responsibility to apply for our marriage license, we missed it. Unfortunately, he also did not remind us at any point that this was something that we needed to do. The first we heard about was 30 minutes before our wedding ceremony, at which point it was impossible to do anything. Luckily we were not getting on a plane the next day and we were able to run around and get papers filled out and mailed to Kevin for his signature, but this was not how we really wanted to spend our first day of "married bliss". Ultimately we were not married until 2 days after our wedding ceremony and didn't have any official paperwork back in our hands for a week because of everything being mailed back and forth (which I also had to follow up with Kevin about because he didn't let us know when he had received the forms). We were really kinda disappointed about that.Aug 29, 2018VerifiedKevin Adams's reply
I am deeply dismay by Jonathan and Amanda’s wedding ceremony experience. As with all my clients, I give a 110% in creating and delivering a custom wedding ceremony to fit the individual nature of the couple and their family. This ceremony had personalized responses to the vows and incorporated my suggestion of the Blending of the Sands to include Jonathan’s children into the ceremony. When we first met, I went over in detail the process of creating the script and completing the marriage license application. I informed the couple that they would be responsible for obtaining their N.Y.S. license application. I take full responsibility for not asking them specifically if they obtained their license application in the communications prior to the ceremony. I did everything in my power to help the situation. The day after the ceremony, I contacted their local Town Clerk and called them immediately to make sure they knew what to do to obtain the application. I apologized profusely before the ceremony and when I called them the next day; as it is my mission for every couple to have the perfect wedding ceremony. I am sorry that was not case for Jonathan and Amanda.
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Base price for service and travel expenses.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Usually a phone consultation to get to know the couple. After that, review of the initial script for the ceremony. Then most rewarding part, officiating a wedding were everyone is comfortable and relaxed to have one of the most important days of their lives.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?My formal education is a Masters of Management from Elmira College. That education has provided me countless opportunities to work with people of all walks of life to bring about their best self. My past job as a radio DJ also has allowed me to have an amazing vocal delivery, if I may brag.
