Introduction: Brightstar Learning - Confidence-Based Online Tutoring Education opens doors, minds, and hearts. When students are given a chance at an educational opportunity, their lives are transformed, and our world's potential expands. That's why I started Brightstar Learning, a small online tutoring business that provides confidence-building tutoring to K-12 students across the country. How It Started I have about five years of tutoring experience under my belt, teaching struggling students math, reading, and writing skills. I have discovered that most students who need tutoring are achieving well below their potential for two main reasons: Firstly, they are missing foundational skills. More often than you'd imagine, K-12 students lack the foundational skills to reach their full potential and learn more efficiently. These skills include everything from arithmetic to reading comprehension to organization. Sometimes it takes a tutor with the dedicated time and experience to pinpoint those missing skills and devise a plan to close the gaps. The second most prominent issue is that students lack confidence. Students who lack confidence are less likely to put in the time and energy needed to improve their grade point average because they don't see the point. But, the dilemma is rooted more deeply than that. Studies show that confidence can make or break a person's ability to learn and perform during tests. This is why the tutors at Brightstar Learning support the whole child and exhibit a positive, forward-thinking mindset. I developed a team of passionate online tutors that teach K-12 students so that they can grow both academically and personally. At Brightstar, we offer so much more than just 'homework help.' We teach students the skills they are lacking, support them in improving their grades, and build relationships that foster confidence about schoolwork. About Me-Founder and Tutor Hello!
