- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A degree from Cornell University in hospitality/business management with a focus in marketing. A staging and design certification through the accredited HSR program.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began by getting my real estate license and found a successful niche in professionally marketing listings in the area. I was utilizing professional photography and videography -something that was rarely seen in our market back then- and focused on making sure my listings were by far the best looking homes available. I quickly expanded my marketing tools and staged my first vacant house in 2018. This house had previously been on the market for 3 YEARS without selling. After staging and marketing it, I sold it in 5 days for over the original list price. From there, instances like this multiplied and I found that this was my true passion in the industry- redefining marketing and transforming homes. I decided to further my education and complete my staging and design certification through the accredited HSR program for home staging and I now look forward to transforming homes every day in Ithaca, Vestal, and all surrounding towns.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Not all stagers/designers are created equal! Some are certified/educated, some are part of the national organizations that work to set a higher standard of service, and everyone has a different portfolio and style!
