FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am flexible about pricing. If I am fact checking as well as editing text I may change more. I prefer to negotiate a price that's acceptable to me and my clients on a per job basis.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Language is always evolving and I read to keep up on changing styles and business slang. In the world of finance, there are as many new ways to say the same old thing as there are in say the world of hip hop music.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am an avid reader who likes to write and who also finds it very annoying when there are typos, text I have to reread to understand and syntax that's clumsy. When I realized I could get paid to fix all that, well I knew my career path was decided. There are many great editors who have had profound influence on great authors. While I may never reach such heights as a Maxwell Perkins, there is one certainty: the written word is forever once it's published, be it in hard copy or on the web, so it had better be good!
