My work stands out! I always customize the fillings and flavors to meet my clients needs, making sure I use the best and freshest ingredients in whatever is being made/created by me for you. All of my cakes/desserts are made from scratch this way I can control what is being put into it. All cakes are custom designed; no two cakes are ever the same. Make my pastry cakes are an experience in itself; from the appearance to the taste. My assistant and myself go above and beyond to make your event memorable. Personally I believe that everyone is an individual and your cake should reflect that quality, everything is created with love. My heart and soul goes into everything allowing me to be be able to please the most discerning client. When you smile then I know that you are happy. Hey!....a happy client is a life long friend. The thought process that goes into the creation of my cakes and the smiles on my clients faces speaks for itself,before and after indulging in any of my delicious desserts. Hired Chef Pearl to do a candy buffet. Immediate response to my inquiry and was great at brainstorming with me. I had very specific thoughts about rice krispy treats and chocolate covered Oreos which were done to perfection. I had several guests during the event ask for contact info. Couldn’t have asked for more.

Chef Pearl provided phenomenal services from the moment I contacted her, right up until she delivered the cake on the day of the wedding. I asked for a Jamaican Rum cake and that is exactly what she provided. Everyone LOVED the cake. It was truly authentic. She just gained a new regular customer!

It was my pleasure to work with Chef Joy. I felt special and appreciated. Her expertise goes above and beyond! Chef Joy takes the pressure out of trying to create your wedding cake....she bares all the weight and created a cake that was so exquisite that I did not want to cut it; much less eat it. THE CAKE WAS DELICIOUS!!!!!!!OMG! I did not do a tasting only because I was stressed for time. Chef Joy took the pressure off of me, I did not worry about a thing. My fiance and myself just left it in her hands and we were not disappointed. Her cake flavor combinations tickles your senses and the texture was perfect. Chef Joy has gained a client for Life. I truly mean that....thank heavens I finally found a true pastry Chef who does everything and is a keeper!!!!!!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All of my tiered/ stacked fondant cakes(2-tiers and up) start at $ 220.00 and go up from there. Single fondant cake tiers(1-tier) start at $95.00 and up. Any other cake/dessert quotes or any questions then feel free to contact me anytime.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After a brief discussion by phone etc. I discuss with clients what it is that they are envisioning for the cake... then I will work out a budget friendly plan for their master piece! We then set up a meet and greet before their event, I solely believe it is very important to meet the face/voice behind the scene so that you know who you are working with.I believe in making the client happy, there is no budget too small that cannot be worked with.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
2 years of Pastry school over 15 years in a fine dining establishment as a Pastry Chef working alongside talented Chefs such as Todd English and designing celebrity cakes also. Keeping up with the food/dessert industry by taking specialty cake/pastry courses to enhance my skills also 2 years of fashion design with a background in color theory and blending.
