First of all, John was professional and courteous. I have a 16x16 deck which had become weathered and in need of help. John came out and provided me a FREE and very reasonable estimate and I hired him. He made my deck look new again. This man pays attention to every detail and does QUALITY work. He went above and beyond and repaired my stairs for just the cost of the materials which he didn't charge me for labor. I will not hire another painter for any jobs in the future. I would highly recommend J&A Painting to anyone who's looking for a good quality job.

John and Amy of J & A Painting and Construction did an outstanding job on a difficult painting project which we hired them for. John was prompt in responding to our request for a quote. He was knowledgable about different paint types needed for a complete repaint of the interior of a very rustic cabin. For example, several areas of the cabin had raw wood and raw masonry. Proper primer and masonry paint was suggested and applied with excellent results, leaving the entire cabin with a consistent, finished appearance. John and Amy took time to make sure details were done right. John "cut in" about 8 ceiling beams, which we wanted to remain raw with great skill and left no bleed or overpaint on the beams. The entire ceiling of the cabin"s second floor was raw wood, with shingle nails penetrating the surface. This required primer and 2-3 coats of paint. Many of the shingle nails caused splinters in the raw wood. John spent hours removing the splinters before priming the ceiling in order to insure a more uniform appearance. Despite the taxing work and extra time involved, John and Amy never complained, and never increased their initial estimated price despite the extra work involved. On many occasions, John stopped what he was doing to help us move a heavy piece of furniture or do an extra project, all without a thought of extra compensation. In short, you can hire J & A Paintiing and Construction with confidence. They quote a reasonable price and work hard, without complaint until the job is done right.

John Frank of J&A is one of the finest and most honest people I've met in years. The care he takes and the quality of his work is unsurpassed in construction as well as painting. My neighbors were so impressed with this that they are also contracting John. I am also lining up projects for John & his crew for this winter. A great example of his care and workmanship is one of my front casement windows. When John was doing his painting prep he found rot that went all the way to the studs. So he removed and replaced the rotten wood, sealed all with an oil based sealer (even the back side of the interior sheet rock), resealed, reinsulated, put up new vapor barier, put on new cedar siding and it all looks like new. Great Job John! Then there was the gate he built for me, and the â¦ The projects keep going. Be smart and hire this guy. Greg

I always do a material price breakdown as well as document where my clients are spending their hard earned money on labor

We all take classes in New types of paint coatings. Faux,epoxy and marbling.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Went out on my own after I contracted a job at First Baptist Church in Watertown NY. Ended up being a project tht lasted over a year.
