I was quoted a price but never given a written contract. In the end they charged me double what they said they would. They had told me it would be "a little more" than what they said the price would be, and I was fine with that, but I did not expect that to mean THOUSANDS more. Should have had a written contract, I told myself - live and learn. If the work was quality, I would have chalked it all up to a learning experience, but unfortunately, the work was shoddy too. They originally left the job ragged and not -well sanded. I had them come back to fix it. But ultimately where they removed a wall and sealed back up the adjoining walls and ceiling -- you can see the seams badly all the way around, despite the further sanding. I painted the ceiling and walls since then, but no paint job can fix how bad it looks. Also visible is a big square seam where a light fixture was moved. Not very good work and it came at a premium price. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the price, but since I am of my word, I paid it. I am seriously upset every time I walk into that room thinking how much money I spent (unexpectedly) for such a poor job.
