FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
In 2006, I had some major life changes that forced me to think about what I really wanted in my life. At that point, I doubted the things I liked and disliked. At the advice of a dear friend, she encouraged me to pick up a camera and start taking photos of all the things that "spoke" to me. In 2008, I purchased my first professional camera and submitted my first competition entry, to which I placed 6th in the International Competition. As they say, the rest is history... It has developed my passion for the things I love into a job I love to do. I am 100% self taught and continue to learn new techniques every day to create outstanding images for my clients.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common jobs I offer for clients are photo sessions based in nature and/or agricultural settings. I work mainly with natural light and rarely use artificial light set ups. I have successfully completed many individual photo shoots for infants, children and adults alike. I have also held countless sessions with pets and other domesticated animals, including but not limited to livestock. I have also taken many nature photographs that are currently used as in many different applications from art wall hangings to greeting cards. I am also a photojournalist that captures photos from various events from tractor pulls to concerts.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When looking to hire a photographer you should always be able to readily view their work. Each photographer has their own unique style and you should find out that fits with the style that you are looking to have as keepsakes of your event(s). A photographer should always be patient with you if you have any questions or concerns regarding their work. They should take the time to fully offer responses. Some photographers also offer graphic design work. If you are interested in having anything customized (ie: thank you cards, business cards, brochures, etc) you should always ask if this service is available and at what rates are charged.
