I am very thankful to have Lyman at LYHD as my dance instructor since May 2015. From completely not knowing how to dance to to be able to call myself a dancer is an awesome journey. As an instructor: Lyman at LYHD is very experienced. His patience in teaching, his good insight and observations help me to conquer a lot of difficulties in dancing. The layering of information make it more achievable. Definitely make learning to dance an enjoyable and always fun activity. As a choreographer: Lyman at LYHD is very creative and talented. He choreographed some numbers for me - these numbers are unique and creative and WOW. It is fascinated that he showcase me as me. It is definitely wonderful to learn from Lyman at LYHD. I highly recommended him as a professional and creative dance instructor for beginners, dancers, and definitely as professional choreographer for show and events. With the professionalism in dance and choreography, he would be a great wedding dance instructor, to make the dance memorable.

Lyman is a fabulous instructor and an extremely talented dancer. I’ve been taking private lessons from him for more than 5 years. He customizes his lessons depending on the student’s level and I feel an improvement in my skills after every lesson. Lyman always introduces challenging moves at the studio, which motivates me to become a better dancer. I really enjoy being a student of a masterful instructor. He is the best!

We first started working with Lyman for our wedding first dance prior to the pandemic and had a blueprint of our dance drafted. Then we had to delay our wedding by a year- but Lyman kept in touch. When we got back into planning mode, Lyman was so adaptable- we found an outdoor space that we were comfortable with, and Lyman was nothing but patient and professional. We scrapped our previous dance and started over- and Lyman was with us the whole way. Neither me nor my wife are dancers- but Lyman taught us in a way that not only focused on the moves but our posture/ mannerisms which mattered very much in the wedding dance. A total of 7 lessons before the wedding- and he recorded everything, kept in touch with us after every practice we did, pointing out small nuances that made a world of difference. Thank you Lyman for delivering what to us was the most important part of our wedding- a kickass first dance!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Service & Fees: Private Lesson (1-2 people): $100/ hr* Semi-Private (3-4 people): $100/ hr* Group Class (5+ people): $100/ hr base rate + $15/ hr for each additional individual * (e.g. 5 people = $115/ hr, 10 people = $190/ hr) Studio Rental Fee (Optional): Range $10-$40 /hr *All lessons may be subject to an additional rental fee. We live in New York and sometimes our apartment is not big enough or the local gym doesn’t have a yoga room. Not to worry! There are many dance studio spaces to rent. My job is to locate one around you that is affordable.
