Introduction
My name is Lily Alvarez. I am a NYS-certified Special Education Teacher with 20 years of classroom experience teaching students with a variety of learning needs. Over the years, I have developed a passion for helping students who struggle with learning how to read, particularly those with learning disabilities such as dyslexia. I am a certified Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner and a CERI Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist.
Reading is the foundation of success in both the academic and career world. All children can learn to read, but for some, the road will be more difficult. These are the students that I am passionate about helping to find their way to becoming skilled, fluent readers.

Our family is forever grateful for finding Lily! She has completely changed the trajectory of our daughter’s educational journey. Lily has many years of experience as a teacher and reading tutor, and is certified as a Wilson Reading Program instructor, which is considered the gold-standard reading program to teach dyslexic children. Lily is experienced, patient, and dedicated to helping our daughter succeed.
