FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
This is where my experience comes in, we are no nonsense when it comes to billing. We understand the anxiety of working with a contractor. We want you to be comfortable & know what you are paying for. We do our best to explain the estimate or invoices & we take a lot of care in simplifying the process. If there is any unforeseen cost, you will be notified before hand & we will prepare the job in a way that is fair & effective, so you will not be blind sided by unnecessary costs. Electrical estimating can be tricky & it is hard to predict the many variables we come across & often times people get overcharged because of carelessness by the contractor. We will never charge you for our mistakes & there will never be random fees on our invoices.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we give them a phone call & ask about the details & concerns, then set up a time & date to meet & take a look at the project in person. We take notes & photos, then we send out a detailed free estimate that they can process & choose to approve. If approved, we then request a deposit to order any materials & schedule a day that works for both of us to start the project. For smaller emergency or non-emergency tasks, we try to speak over the phone or FaceTime to try & problem solve & give them avenues of solutions & if they need us to come out for repair, we give them an honest timeframe & possible cost the best we can.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started with 2 years of vocational high school at the BOCES Construction Electricity Program, then continued my education after I started working as an Electrical Apprentice & throughout my entire career, going to schools & programs like Turner Tech, Ridley Lowell & SWIS Electrical Training Center after work to expand my knowledge & fulfill my requirements to obtain the multiple electrical licenses I hold today. I also take multiple mandatory annual Continuing Education classes to maintain my Electrical Licenses & stay up to date with the code requirements.
