Dog training type
Board and train at a facility
Tim is a friendly and devoted individual. Extremely knowledgeable about his trade. He comprehends the needs you have of your dog, and employs his training regimen around those needs. Further, he teaches you the required skills to keep the dog well trained and behaving properly. We saw progress with our pup well within a few weeks. The important thing is that you listen to what Tim has to say, and you employ the tactics he teaches you. It's all about reinforcement. Without that reinforcement, your dog will only go so far. If someone asked me to recommend a dog trainer, The Guiding Leash Dog Training and Behavior Solutions company would be my go to choice.Jan 2, 2018
If you are looking for training or behavioral solutions, Tim is the person to contact! He is extremely knowledgeable and fully invested in his work and the dogs and owners he works with. Our dog learned very quickly throughout our training sessions, and we learned effective means of communicating with her. Tim’s lesson summaries are invaluable, and we have referred to them often. He responds quickly to any questions that arise.Jan 2, 2018
Tim was such a huge help with my dogs. I was looking for a trainer to help get my 3 boys under control. Walking them all at once was impossible! Now, because of Tim, I'm even able to take them all to the vet together! This guy is amazing at what he does. Trust his process. If he can get my 3 sled dogs (not literally sled dogs although they pull like they are) walking beautifully beside me, he can do anything! Tim's also been so helpful in teaching my boys to behave around the house. Until recently I had the house nobody wanted to visit because they'd be trampled by my hooligans. Yesterday I had people coming and going at a party AND a pizza delivered with my boys out and about with us. They were so well behaved! I can't thank Tim enough for all of his help. I still have more that I want to accomplish with my boys, and I know Tim will be helping us reach those goals!Apr 10, 2018
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Tim personally and professionally for the past 12 years. A dedicated and highly competent canine professional, Tim’s passion for dog training is infectious. Over the past two years I have observed Tim work with clients as well as his own dogs, Cassandra and Cyrus, since they were assigned to him at Starmark Academy. Before meeting Tim, Cassandra was an overweight senior with almost no physical stamina. Tim has since transformed her into a healthy, fit, and happy girl who loves to play and socialize. Cyrus, who was healthy but lacking in other ways, now aims to please and has blossomed into an incredible athlete with an appetite for physical and mental challenges. Both dogs are a living testament to the depth of Tim’s skill and expertise as a trainer. Tim is also refreshingly attentive and thoughtful when working with clients. Outside of the scheduled lesson time, he is more than willing to answer any thoughts and concerns via email, text or phone. I’ve also noticed that Tim prefers to keep his client list on the smaller side. It makes all the difference in outcome and experience, as his approach is tailored to each individual client’s needs. I can’t think of a better ally to have by your side on the journey to ensure a lasting bond with your pooch. You’re in great hands—be sure to do your homework and the results will follow!Jan 19, 2018
Tim is an excellent teacher and extremely patient. He made a lot of progress with our dogs in a very short time, and he gave us many guidelines going forward. We highly recommend him and his services.Apr 14, 2018Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? The consultation and evaluation not only allows us the opportunity to meet so I can see your dog in there daily environment so we can design the ideal training program to guide them to your goals, but will the cost will also become a deposit to lock in your start date!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I understand that dog training is not something cookie-cutter. Every dog is different, every home is different. Before I start any training program with a client, I like to meet with the client in their home so I can see their dog in their environment. This allows me the opportunity to collect more information about your dog and custom tailor a training package that will best help you achieve your goals. While my consultations do come at a cost, that cost will apply to any training package you select if you select a training package with me within one week of having a consultation.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have been working with dogs since 2014, having worked with breeds of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. I've done it all from volunteering at rescues and shelters, working at board and train facilities, and doggie daycares. I have worked with hundreds of dogs, and graduated from the Starmark Academy for Professional Dog Trainers where I became a certified Canine Training and Behavior Specialist. Upon completing their rigorous program, I went on to complete the Internship Program Starmark Academy has to offer. As an intern I not only aided the instructors in both the classroom and hands-on portions of the program but frequently assisted students in learning the proper techniques and skills that would help them succeed. Through my journey in the canine industry, I have trained dogs in Competition Obedience, Agility, Service Tasks, Narcotics Detection and much more. I've also led several summer camp programs where kids were able to bring their canine companions with them every day where they learned the foundation of how dogs think and learn, as well as the basic building blocks that go into teaching dogs obedience and agility.
