🎹 Piano Lessons
I work with beginners through advanced players, including adults returning to piano, jazz students, and classically trained pianists looking to expand their skills.
<How I Work With Students>
We start by setting a clear, personal goal (for example: playing a jazz standard, accompanying a singer, composing an original piece, or preparing a classical work). From there, I:
•Assess your current level and experience
•Identify the specific skills needed to reach your goal
•Break everything into manageable, practical steps
Each lesson focuses on exactly what you should practice and how to practice efficiently, so progress feels steady and motivating.
<Teaching Approach>
With nearly three decades of piano experience and study with master musicians, I focus on efficient practice strategies and healthy technique that help you play with ease and confidence. My approach is structured but encouraging, and always adapted to each student’s learning style.

🎓 Background & Experience
I earned a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music and a Master’s degree in Jazz Studies from Manhattan School of Music.
In 2014, I was awarded scholarships from the TOMODACHI Suntory Music Scholarship Fund and the Rotary Club of Japan to attend Berklee, where I studied with renowned musicians including Joanne Brackeen, Darren Barrett, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Billy Kilson.
While at Berklee, I was selected to perform at the U.S.–Japan Council Annual Conference in Tokyo, attended by U.S. Ambassador Caroline Kennedy and former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. I later recorded with Grammy Award–winning trumpeter Darren Barrett on his album But Beautiful “Time For Romance” (2018).
In 2022, I performed with the Manhattan School of Music Jazz Orchestra at Dizzy’s Club Jazz at Lincoln Center, conducted by Jack Walrath. I have toured throughout the U.S. and Japan and continue to perform regularly in the New York area.
