FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For headshots/portraits, my current pricing structure is multi-tiered. $300/$600/$1000, depending what is wanted. See my website under "rates" for details. For all else, $300 is a standard minimum fee for me & upwards from there (depending on what is being requested). I occasionally diverge from this structure on special case-by-case basis if it feels right.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For headshots or portraits (whether it's a new customer or not), I'll begin each session by talking over coffee or tea - to make that connection & establish rapport & also to get a better sense of what my client wants that day. If it's going to be happening on location, I like to have a phone conversation, a Skype, or a coffee in person beforehand to make sure that we're a good fit for working together. Fit is really important to me. We can always hire someone (or say yes to clients) willy-nilly, but the experience and the result will be impacted. I like to know that we're on the same page first.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began working as a portrait photographer 20 years ago (when we used film!). I did this for several years part-time in high school and college. I've been honing my craft ever since.
