Introduction: Does a professional music teacher has to be strict and serious in order to give a respectful education? The answer is definitely NO. My name is Eviatar Slivnik and I’m a professional musician with a BA in performance from Berklee College of Music. I’ve been touring and performing all around the world for the past 7 years with various bands. In my teaching I focus on getting the student a strong foundation and understanding of music while always keeping the enjoyment out of playing and understanding music. My goal is to help musicians of all levels to hear music differently and have a complete understanding of the music they like and want to play. I believe music lesson is supposed to be FuN! A fun learning environment is also something I encourage and incorporate strongly in my lessons.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Typically, I try to find the mutual goals of both the student and I so that during the process of learning we will both get the most relevant material covered and get the most fun out of the lessons. In my opinion it is crucial that both the student and the teacher will be fully engaged during the lesson because I believe that music should be wired in our brains as a positive activity. Usually, the first lessons is more of establishing which path are we taking in our lessons because there are endless options.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

As far as music education, I have a BA in performance from Berklee College of Music and have been studying at the most highly acclaimed music institutions in my county. Also, I have a wide professional training as a working and touring musician. I have performed all over the world from Europe to Asia and the States and have the practical knowledge and experience of what it is to be a working musician.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Music has always been a huge part of my life. I started playing the drums when I was 8 years of age and immediately knew I want to do it for the rest of my life. Over the years, I realized that alongside being a working musician and performing almost every night, I would like to share some of the knowledge that I received over the years and pass it on in my own flavor.
