Our focus lies in collaboratively conjuring, capturing, and shaping sounds into compelling audio experiences. 4D Audio Productions works with musical artists, media production companies, and independent content creators. Our credits include: Mauricio Maestro (Boca Livre), Ryan Scott, David Rothschild, Alejandro Elizondo, Dan Saulpaugh, Daniel Landers, Kellon Anderson, Christian Nourjanian, Jon “The Barber” Gutwillig (Disco Biscuits), Wondery Podcast Network, Big Echo Creative, EntertainmeUK (EntertainmeUS), and Alchemation. We received the honor of Best New Audio Production Company by Thumbtack in 2015. Our work on Wondery Podcast Network’s “Wait Wait Don’t Kill Me” won the 2016 Webby award for Best Sound Design/Original Music Score in a podcast. Our work with Alchemation (theatrical production company behind Something Rotten! and Motown: The Musical) will be featured on their new musical Ride The Cyclone in 2019.

Working with Steven on my newest EP was a fantastic decision. It's one thing to work with a producer who knows how to properly put together a good sounding record, but this guy also quickly grasped what I was going for and helped me get the best out of my performances (guitar/bass/keys/vocals) to help me sound the way I wanted. Great set up, very professional, affordable rates, and easy to work with artistically, both from the vocal booth and in production. Most importantly, he always took my notes when there was something specific I wanted in production, but he also never lacked an explanation for any part of his process. I would absolutely recommend 4DAudio to anyone looking to get their music recorded and produced.

Finding Steven through Thumbtack was perhaps the best thing that's happened to me as a musician. In working with Steven on my debut EP, I not only found a great musical collaborator, but a trusted adviser and partner in the music industry. We had a 5 star recording experience with Steve. I have been a recording artist for many years and worked in lots of studios with lots of engineers and Steve was ace! Steve is intuitive as to what is needed so moving from task to task was pretty seamless. We worked in Steve's home studio for a small project and he was geared up with nice mic's and monitors and took attention to detail for mic placing to get the best possible sound. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We reserve a $100 booking minimum. To book a session, we require a 50% deposit. This is payable on our websites contact & info page. The remaining 50% is due the day of the session. We accept cash, credit, and PayPal. Credit and PayPal will be subject to transaction fees. For sessions cancelled less than 72 hours in advance, the deposit will serve as a cancellation fee. The cancellation fee is the lesser of the deposit or $100.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to learn about the person and the project before we begin. It's important to start a working relationship on the same page.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been interested in music as long I can remember. I took piano and voice lessons from a very young age. I got a recording internship at Cove City Sound Studios (Billy Joel, Jennifer Lopez) when I was 13. By 14 I built a small studio in my parents basement. In college I worked at the Weeks Recording Studio, where I was assistant engineer on the Grammy-nominated record “With Love” by Jeremy Fox. After graduating I moved to NYC and began working with 14-time Grammy winner Ron Saint Germain (311, Muse, Sonic Youth). Together we worked on projects for Madison Rising and David Rothschild. At that time I founded 4D Audio Productions. I’ve since worked with Andrea Valentini (Blood Sweat & Tears), Mauricio Maestro (Boca Livre), Wondery Podcast Network, and Ryan Scott (Breastfist).
