Introduction: Many of my students have had great success and it is indeed a gratifying experience to watch my students grow as artists. My overall goal is to expand my students' expressive abilities as a singer. To achieve this goal, I will seek to increase the resonance and purity of the voice throughout its entire range. Another important objective will be the release of vocal tension, which will lead to improved vocal stamina and flexibility. Reaching these objectives will allow the student to sing both with precision and abandon. I will employ the creative use of various vocal exercises, according to the needs of the student. I teach both male and female students as well as beginning and advanced students. I teach students sixteen years of age or older.

It has always been a life long goal of mine to sing. So, after much hesitation of doing something that I’ve never done before I sought out professional help. I stumbled across this site after skimming through various ads that featured a variety of teachers that specialized in all facets of voice. Andrew Costellos profile and his expertise in the field of opera caught my eye, specifically because training in the style of opera was something that didn’t come to mind. Since the moment I’ve taken the first lesson up until now, I’ve noticed a difference in the way that I sing. My vocal pitch, technique and range have improved in the span of a couple of months under the mentorship of Andrew. Should one reading this review decide to take lessons with Andrew should note that he has a vast knowledge of voice. His breakdown of proper mouth and tongue placement to produce a desired sound, having you sing in sync with a specific piano key, singing in different piano keys to diversify your singing pitch, etc. Andrews feedback is another thing to note especially if you’re unsure whether you’re singing correctly because I thought prior to taking lessons that I possessed a decent voice until Andrew evaluated my vocals and laid out what we can work on to have my voice perform to the best of its abilities. Whether you’re a professional with a large body of work or a novice like myself, having someone as knowledgeable as Andrew will strengthen one’s vocal abilities.

Thanks to my voice lessons with Andrew, I now have a solid vocal technique I can rely on under all circumstances. Andrew never teaches with intimidation. He is always positive and makes it fun to learn. He encourages me to try new things, helping me reach my potential.
