- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Being price competitive is very important for us. You may find tax preparers charging a little less than we do, but they almost certainly will not have access to the research databases, enterprise-grade secure IT systems, credentialed staff, and professional liability insurance coverage that we have.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Although onboarding process varies a lot depending on the specifics of each client, it always starts with an engagement letter that sets clear expectations for both sides. Then, we like to have a look into their previous year tax filings. That allows us to quickly get up to speed with their situation and provide them with a list of questions and documents we need to prepare our first drafts. Along with our first draft, we provide a cover letter outlining the tax positions taken, tax elections available and steps-by-step instructions to file. We're very accommodating of each client's communication preferences: email, phone, videoconference, we do it all.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Robert is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) with postgraduate tax education from Villanova University Law School in Philadelphia and DePaul University in Chicago.
