Louise is a results-obsessed SAT/ACT tutor with 15 years of math teaching experience, both in the classroom and online. Her degrees are in computer science and math from UVA and Columbia University. Previously, she taught high school math in New York City as a Math for America fellow and now tutors math and SAT/ACT full time. My daughter has been working with Louise since early in the year. She came to Louise with an ACT of 29 back in February 2020. Several of her tests were canceled due to Covid but she took the test again in October and scored a 33! My daughter loves Louise. After scoring well, my daughter was sad that she was no longer going to be working with Louise. Louise has a great combination of patience, thoroughness, clarity in communication, positivity and nurturing demeanor. My daughter does not feel like she's being talked down to. The relationship is very collaborative and productive. Best of all, Louise gets results! We've been through a LOT of tutors (seriously). Louise is by far the best. And it will save you a lot of time jumping from one failed tutor to the next. Her prices are fair, her service is outstanding and her approach is very professional. You will not regret hiring her. I promise.

Louise got my daughter through Honors Geometry. She started the school year with barely passing grades. Meeting with Louise online once a week and extra times before each test helped her achieve an "A" for the final quarter and a "B+" for her final year grade. While I was hesitant to use an online tutor, it worked out wonderfully. Louise also sent us, the parents, an email after each tutoring session with a full report on progress and/or issues that needed more work. Highly recommended as a math tutor!!!

Via Skype I have had "College Mathematics" tutoring with Louise and she is excellent. I come into each session with various questions to ask her and she is ALWAYS 100% on top of the subjects I need to learn. Very thorough, patient, calm, and a great listener. We use a white board thru Skype which we are both able to interact with...she sends links for me to click on to easily enter our session, bring up the white board and begin learning. I'm 52 years old and she makes the use of online learning simple for me to use. I'm VERY pleased with my progress. THANK YOU LOUISE!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a discount on the purchase of a package of 10 sessions. Payment is made via PayPal, Venmo, or credit card.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we set up a time for the first session. This can be done over the phone, or you can book me directly via my website. Next, we exchange Skype names so we can connect for a voice call (no webcam required). We'll use an online whiteboard to work out problems together. I will give you a call on Skype when it's time for us to get started!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a masters degree in Math Education from Columbia University and am certified to teach high school in the state of Illinois. I was a high school math teacher in NYC for five years and have been tutoring online since 2012.
