Q. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A. I like to speak to the client a few weeks in advance to go over their vision of how the beverage aspect of the party should be handled and go over any drink menus, or shopping lists that might be needed.
Q. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A. I attended bartender/mixology school at the Bartender Academy of New York in Farmingdale. I was hired as a head bartender at Venetian Yacht Club formally John Anthony's on the Water in Babylon, NY.
After server all years of experience in the Bartending industry I decided to create my own private Bartending service so I could serve people in their homes. I enjoy the personalized relationships I now have with my clients and most of my jobs are repeat business and referrals from all my satisfied customers.
I am TiPs certified which is a bartender safety/server responsibility certification recognized by New York State and required in many industry bartending jobs.
Q. Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
A. Typically my pricing is $25 per hour on the first 4 hours and then $35 per hour there after.
Q. How did you get started doing this type of work?
A. After working at one of Long Island's largest wedding halls (Venetian Yacht Club formally John Anthony's on the Water) I was asked to work a party privately for a guest at a wedding I was bartending. I decided to print up business cards and bring them to the party. I've been working private parties ever since when not teaching and coach junior high technology education.
Q. What types of customers have you worked with?
A. I have been bartending private cocktail parties at clients residence for 10 years. Parties range from weddings, anniversaries, graduations, birthdays, holiday parties, any occasion. I bring my bartending skills and mixing tools to serve professionally presented alcoholic beverages. Setup and breakdown upon request. I provide phone consultations to make sure the client has the proper supplies needed for a successful event. I always dress appropriately and can wear a tuxedo/bow tie when requested.
Q. What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
A. Working any party requires experience, efficiency, communication skills, and the flexibility to meet the needs of the client. Having a stranger working in your home during an important engagement requires trust on both ends. Providing in home services for ten years has given me the confidence I need to perform the job that will make the client happy.
