Introduction: Over the years I have come to understand how to tailor lessons to each student's individual needs, whether they are a complete beginner, new to one aspect of music, trying their hand at composing or trying a new instrument. I love helping others find the easiest way to view those aspects of music they are dealing with in their studies. Good playing habits begin at the first lesson. Music theory is not mysterious. If it seems confusing it's because of the time constraints of a classroom setting. I can help with all these studies and more.

Anita Brown is an inspired musician and a quality music educator. She knows her craft and conveys her love of music to students with ease. She relates nicely to students young and old, and finds creative ways of bringing the joy of music making to all. Anita started teaching both of my children when they were just four years old, and gave them a great foundation. My son, now 15, is a concert pianist who has won several international competitions, and my now ten year old daughter is also well on her way.

Ms. BROWN was my band teacher in high school. She is an amazing teacher and composer. She was the one who formed a pep band in our school. She had us learn so many different types of music, from jazz to hip hop! She taught me how to conduct and how to count the beats while conducting. She taught us students the importance of the different type of music that we should experience and learn. She made learning and playing music fun!! She conducted the pit orchestra for the plays in the school. She is a very good teacher!

I contracted with Ms. Brown to teach my 3rd Grade music classes composition in a one day workshop. The classroom teachers and I were extremely impressed with her demeanor in the classroom, as well as the subject content and instruction she provided the students. So impressed, I had her back several times in successive years. I recommend her without hesitation as a music teacher. She's knowledgeable, experienced, methodical, inspiring, encouraging, and most of all, she gets results!
