About
“Ms. Roth’s paintings are a cross between Georgia O’Keeffe and Odilon Redon”
Don Lombardi, New York Times
People who are looking for an artist to interpret their ideas should call me because I love the fine art of collaboration. I have collaborated with artists for many years as the Master Printer at the prestigious Etching Atelier, Hudson River Editions. I have the finely crafted skill of putting your ideas into a painting, drawing or book cover. If you want a hand painted reproduction of your favorite painting, or a copy of an Impressionist Masterpiece or a Renaissance Madonna or a portrait of your dog, just call me. My prices are reasonable and I always meet my deadlines.
In addition, my small prints and jewelry, cast from my Etching plates, are sold in the Mezzanine Print Gallery of the Metropolitan Museum.

Slyvia has done many beautiful pieces of art work for me over the years.. She designed my sons bar mitzvah invitation as well as several commisioned paintings... She is a pleasure to work with... With an eye for detail... I would definatly use her again.

Sylvia is an experienced and creative artist and art consultant who deals with upcoming and major artists alike. We have commissioned paintings from her that hang in our home. She is formally trained and can paint in virtually any art style from any from time period. She has also helped us with the sale of an investment art piece. With her guidance and expertise, we were able to sell the print for three times the original price. She can do it all - paint, illustrate, art consult, and she's a joy to work with!!!!

A year ago, I showed some of Sylvia Roth's original flower paintings to a relative. He greatly admired them. When he recently bought a small condo, I offered as a housewarming gift an original Roth. He loved the idea, but, for a particular spot, needed a smaller one than was available. So Sylvia painted an absolutely beautiful new painting based on a detail from a larger painting (of some type of rare orchid) that he'd particularly liked. She put it in a small gold leaf frame. Gorgeous. He couldn't be more appreciative. It looks like a jewel!

I've purchased several pieces from Chelsea Art group. The transactions were seamless. This group is reliable, professional and offers reasonable pricing. Additionally, I benefited from an art education as I evaluated each purchase. I would recommend this Chelsea Art group without hesitation.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I price using the pricing guidelines outlined in Thumbtack’s information. Somewhere between $200 and $450 an image. Sometimes I charge less and sometimes more. The price depends on the size and complexity of the image. I work closely with my clients and try to keep within my client’s budget.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new client, I take the time to get to know her or him. I tell the client if I think I can do the job or not. To get started we work out a price and a payment plan. I do not get paid until we both agree on the designed image. Every client is different and I try to work within that client’s budget. I aim to please my client and not myself.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was graduated from The High School of Music and Art in NYC and studied painting with the renowned artist, Phillip Guston at NYU and where I earned my BA. I had additional study at Pratt Graphic Workshop and The Arts Students League of New York. My paintings and prints are in many private and corporate collections and my jewelry and prints are exhibited in the Mezzanine Print Gallery at the Metropolitan Museum. My illustration work is informed by my fine art painting training.
