About this pro

How does your service stand out?

What makes “The Way” band unique? We are not a “cookie-cutter” wedding/ event band that plays the same songs the same way every time. Rather, we are a fun, creative, spontaneous and lively group of seasoned professionals who love to play and love to make people happy. We have a huge repertoire of material from many genres from classic and modern rock to Motown to jazz and even a little country. Typically for a wedding or corporate event, we play jazz or soft-rock during the cocktail hour that serves as superior background music that is interesting to listen to but not too in your face. But when it comes time that people are ready to dance, it’s all about the funk, Motown, rock and boogie that will keep people movin’ and groovin’. The main strength of “The Way” is in serving your event at every moment the best it can possibly served musically. How do we do this? Our decades of experience as pro musicians (some of whom have played in many countries as well as Carnegie Hall and the LA FAME Awards), gives us the ability to “read” the crowd and respond accordingly with the perfect song at every moment. Further, each member of the group also plays in other bands and brings fresh, creative ideas to the table every time we play. So, if you are looking for a real first-class band that is also totally fun and ready for anything; if you want a group that will get people asking “Wow where did you find this band?” then look no further. This, to us, is “The Way” it should be. The video shows the trio portion of the band but for weddings and corporate events we usually add a keyboardist/vocalist and a saxophonist to the line-up. In having this type of flexibility of playing with 3, 4 or 5 musicians, we can easily meet venue and/or budget requirements for any event.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

We LOVE to play. I personally have been performing since I was 16 years old. I have played at Carnegie Hall, the L.A. FAME Awards, and many other venues. I also offer guitar lessons in the Newfield/ Ithaca area www dot GuitarLessonsIthaca dot com

    Party Success with The Way!
The Way Band was the perfect choice for my 40th birthday party. During the booking process and at the party, Dennis was friendly, flexible and easy to work with. The band was fun and energetic and kept us dancing for hours. Lots of variety and always seemed to play the right song for the moment. So many guests asked where I found the band; highly recommend them!

Have not had the event yet however in the very very beginning stages of planning Dennis has been in contact and I'm looking forward to working with him more.

I own NYC Guitar School...Dennis worked for me before he moved up to Ossining with his own private teaching practice, he was always friendly and reliable, and he is a great guitar player and I'm happy to recommend him to potential students.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
This can vary based on customer preference. However, after an initial quote is sent, there is usually a follow-up call to negotiate and/or clarify details. After that, either a contract or just a confirmation email confirms all the particulars regarding the event.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been peforming professionally since I was 16 years old and I have been teaching for over 15 years.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have played for Andrew Cuomo, David Dinkins, Rudolph Giulliani, etc. but mostly I work with everyday folks like myself :)
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
My 3rd album is being released next month.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
This is a great question. When you book a band for your event, or book a teacher for guitar lessons, you want to work with someone who: a) can deliver MASSIVE value from the length and breadth of their musical experience b) is easy to work with in terms of communication, follow-up, special requests, etc. c) has reasonable rates d) really cares about what you are looking for and is willing to adapt to suit your event. Some bands and/ or teachers always do things the same way regardless of the event and/or student. You want someone who can easily tailor his services based on your overall vision and/or long-term student goals.
