Introduction: Bred For Life is a business dedicated to helping pet owners with all their pets needs. Whether you need dog training, dog walking, boarding or any type of pet care, you will not need to look any further. I am a certified dog trainer who has a passion and respect for all animals. My certification was obtained from an establishment that was well sought out for specialized dog training, police dog training and personal protection. The training methods and tools used have been proven to achieve results every time. Your pet will be transformed into a cherished member of your family without losing their unique personality. It makes no difference what breed of dog you own, how old they are or what behaviors they display. All dogs can be taught and behaviors can be either changed or managed. If you are taking advantage of dog walking services, your pet will be handled with quality care. They will get private walks with the same person every time, thus creating a positive, comfortable relationship. Your home will be also be treated respectfully and responsibly. When signing up for private home boarding services, you can rest and relax having the confidence of knowing that your pet is getting that "in home" experience, whether just for a day stay or overnight. I offer cage free boarding in my home, treating your pet as if they were my own. This is not a kennel facility or operation. The only other dog your pet will be in contact with during their stay, is my own. Your pet gets focused attention and can enjoy their time away stress free! Bred For Life prides itself on genuine quality care and services every time, working to build long term relationships with clients and pets. I love everything about what I do. I enjoy meeting so many people and animals of all kinds. My services have given me the opportunity to not only form long term client relationships, but friendships as well! It is truly rewarding and satisfying when observing dog owners see the progress and results their dog has made during training. Just knowing that I had a direct impact in preventing a dog from being rehomed or possibly given up to a shelter, is paramount. My mission is accomplished when I know that clients are confident that their pet is in the best hands when either with going through my training program, out on a walk or enjoying their time away for day care or overnight boarding.

We were new puppy owners and after hiring 3 trainers for our pure-breed, high energy hunting dog, we realized that she needed to be disciplined and that our positive training techniques were not sufficient. Joyce taught us how to get our puppy to know we were in charge and within weeks she was a different, obedient dog. She already knew most of the commands but was not responding immediately. Joyce got us back to basics and once she was respecting the commands we moved on to ecollar training, which taught her recall and obedience off leash. Joyce was so loving and caring with our puppy and we can’t thank her enough.

We adopted Drake in July 2021. He came from Miami and that's all we know about his history. He came to us anxious, scared, timid, terrified of men and cowered in a corner whenever we spoke even remotely loudly. After a few months of a consistent routine and getting rid of the crate, he started to trust us and let my husband and son approach and pet him. But then other issues started to surface. Mild food aggression, using the carpet as grass to relieve himself, dragging and pulling us back home as soon as we started a walk, overall trust issues and not following any commands whatsoever. I knew at this point we needed a trainer. So, I Googled "trainer near me" and Joyce/Bred for Life was the first referral. With all the positive reviews, I sent an email and Joyce promptly responded. Our first session was an informational session about her techniques in training, her philosophy, canine behavior, and our responsibility in being consistent and following through with commands. Her knowledge impressed us and made total sense. Joyce was hired. We had our sessions regularly scheduled and she was always prompt. We started with the basics and built every week on commands and follow through of the commands. Drake instantly was drawn to her, and his tail soon wagged when he saw her approaching the door. Joyce not only trained Drake but also trained us as his leaders and his family to provide him safety, security, love and proper behavior. When it came to the e-collar I was truly hesitant. That damned e-collar intimidated me! But with Joyce's consistent feedback and reinforcement I grew to trust myself in its use and application, and Drake was all the better for it!!! Joyce was truly a Godsend. And when we were all trained, our sessions came to an end. Drake now enjoys his walks and smells every blade of grass as if it were his first walk. He has become more social with other canines and now actually goes up to our male neighbors and smells their hand and lets them pet him. He is confident, walks with his tail and head held high. He is such a joy and such a wonderful addition to the family. The money we spent on Joyce and her services has been the best investment ever! Look no further for a dog trainer.... Joyce is your trainer and will come to your rescue! Annette P., Drake & family

We cannot recommend Joyce highly enough. She helped us with our chocolate lab, Frank, who had developed some bad habits. Her systematic approach gave us a solid foundation of obedience which has enabled us to teach Frank to be a calm, well mannered dog. We saw instant improvements in Frank’s behavior, and we’re now able to do so much more with him. The sessions were a lot of fun and we thoroughly enjoyed Joyce’s company. Thank you, Joyce!

Joyce is an excellent trainer who brings a lot of energy to her sessions. She took a difficult Weimaraner and made him manageable. She was a pleasure to work with and BoBo liked her, too.

Joyce is amazing! We are on a strict timeline because we are having a baby in February and we needed to address many of our dog’s behaviors. Our dog is still learning, as it’s only been 4 sessions, but we are already seeing so many positive changes! Joyce is so flexible and worked with us and made what we needed a priority. She is extremely loving and kind to our dog, yet firm and clearly in charge. She works with the owners just as much, if not more, than the dog. She sends personalized emails after each session to highlight exactly what we should work on for the next session. She is extremely punctual and responsive when I reached out to her outside of our sessions. If you are committed to putting the time in and taking her advice, you will absolutely see positive changes in your dog. I highly recommend Joyce!
