I will be approaching my 3rd lesson and I believe one of the most captivating lesson that she has taught me is the confidence of being a violinist. Naturally, most people have a decent amount of skills if they are taking lessons. But what has improved my performance, even if just a little, is the mindset she has been instilling in me.

Started learning the piano last year at the young age of 57. Bought a inexpensive upright and a couple of books. Did the youtube thing also. Didn't have cash for lessons.(or maybe just didn't want to pay for them).Anyway, a year later i honestly felt i could only go so far without personal direction. Finding this website I stumbled upon Maria. I have completed five lesson now. At first i was completely uncomfortable trying to play in front of her. She reassured me that this was normal. Her professional demeanor helped me feel at ease. Theory wise she explains things in a way that i can pick up on in mins.( sometimes i couldn't even find ans on the internet). I always leave her with a sense of confidence. She seems to know how to push you just enough to excel to the next step. Never ever any pressure. Marie picks up on your weaknesses and targets them. As you can tell from my review i feel very lucky to have found her. I look forward to continuing my weekly lessons. Marie was born to teach. FIVE STARS across the board.

Have been taking my son for lessons for about 3 weeks. It has been absolutely wonderful. She really takes the time to get to know my son and cater to the way my son learns. Very highly recommend!

I labored under the delusion that music was beyond my grasp, apparently not true. I know this only because of this particular music teacher. She has taught me things about instruments that I had no idea existed. She is disarming , kind and considerate. if you put in the effort she will put the effort in on you. she will push your limits to show you how much you have actually learned and bolster your confidence by doing so. I have never been so happy with a decision as the one I made choosing her as my teacher.

Maria is the most thorough, pleasant, and knowledgeable private music teacher I've ever taken lessons from. I leave each pianolesson with a more comprehensive understanding of notes, of rhythms, of musicality, but most importantly, of myself.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes my pricing standard is $40 for half hour lessons, $50 for 45 minutes and $60 for hour lessons.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I meet my new student at my studio. We talk for a few minutes. This gives us both a chance to introduce ourselves and start to develop a rapport. I usually ask a student who has been playing, to play something for me. I can get a glimpse of where they are at musically and what road we should go down. For a new student we start slow and I introduce basic technique and concepts and I get them playing as quickly as possible. We discuss technique, solo repertoire and and music theory and we take it from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in Music Education. I have years of experience in teaching in many different t settings. I also have performance experience and can use that experience during my lessons.
