I can’t say enough great things about Richie Smyth! For two months I’ve been training with him and have noticed a dramatic change in my body (i.e. my body fat went from 26% to 20% and I’ve gained muscle). Richie’s total focus is creating the best regimen for each individual. Before Richie started my training we held a consultation to learn about my medical history, diet, likes, dislikes, and more. Since I have back and neck issues, Richie took the time to even speak with my Chiropractor to see if there were any exercises I should avoid. He taught me alternative exercises that do not put added pressure on my back. He's incredibly knowledgeable and is a stickler on correct form while executing an exercise, which is so important. Above all, Richie reminds me to listen to my body ~ he says “when in doubt, hit the brakes”! Richie is skilled in anatomy and physiology and will explain why certain exercises are being done. The sessions are innovative and challenging, but most importantly fun and always varied. I never know what I’m going to be doing from session to session.

I've been training with Richie on and off for the last thirteen years. Ideally I'd love to train with him five days a week. Unfortunately, work and life in general make that difficult. When I first started with Richie he would have me demonstrate how I did a certain exercise, like a dumbbell curl. He would make adjustments as needed and I would almost always have to go to a lighter weight. He would emphasize form which worked hand in hand with exploiting the muscle. The day after working out with Richie I always had that "good sore" feeling in whatever body part we worked on. He also had me write down what I ate everyday. I was already pretty meticulous with what I ate. He gave me a meal plan and I followed it to a T. Five weeks into the meal plan Richie gave me he re-checked my body fat. It dropped from18% to just under 13%. When he saw the results he stood up and hugged me. I didn't know how to react at first especially since I only knew him for a few weeks. He then explained that he was psyched because I followed the meal plan. The measurements he took didn't lie. One of the biggest reasons that I really enjoy training with Richie is that he is creative and does a great job at "muscle confusion." The work he does in preparing for an individual's training session pay off over time. He is by far the most knowledgeable person I have ever met when it comes to weight/fitness training. On days I'm not training with Richie I hear his voice in my head pushing me. That's the positive effect he'll have on you! Don L.

I started working with Richie last August and had to take time off because of a surgery. We took three months off and below is my progress of working with him for about 4 months consistently after surgery, without following any strict diet but just trying to eat right. I am studying to be a trainer so I am very familiar with exercise however Richie provides knowledge that I have not come across in any text book. He has adjusted to any type of training I want to explore and has pushed me to do things I didn't see possible. My bench press max has went from 185lbs to 250lbs in 6 months (I weigh about 143lbs). I highly recommend Richie to anyone looking to improve themselves. He will be as invested in you (if not more) than you are in yourself!
