As an A.C.E. certified personal trainer and Stott Pilates instructor, I'm required to to get 20 hours of continuing education every two years. I've done continuing education in pre/post natal, osteoporosis, spinal injuries, scoliosis, athletic conditioning, breast cancer recovery, various orthopedic issues in the body from plantar fasciatis to rotator cuff injury, etc, in addition to reading monthly journals and blogs regarding my profession.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started training in Pilates after seeing how much it helped me at the Center for Dance Medicine in San Francisco, where I was treated for my numerous injuries while dancing professionally with the San Francisco opera.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
a client came referred from his chiropractor, who really didn't know where to start. In four months, I've eliminated the initial complaint, moved past the second complaint, and am working on a decades old problem that I'm hoping to help him resolve in the next few months. He never thought he'd feel the way he feels today.
