Introduction: We are Jim and Patty Mates. We are dedicated professionals whose sole aim is to produce the magnificent sound of Perfect Harmony in every piano we work on. We tune, repair and appraise all types of pianos. When we arrive at your home to tune your piano, you can expect us to be there for a full two hours. This may be a bit longer than you'd expect, and here's why. Most tuners use an electronic tuning device. We also do. It is a valuable tool in helping to achieve a good tuning. However, the result is seldom perfect. This is why we follow up with an aural (ear) tuning in order to ferret out notes that aren't quite as they should be. We do this by means of a rigorous testing methodology of our own design, which reveals every errant note. The result is a piano that is in perfect harmony in every key signature.
