Introduction: The most important part of my process, whether for a portrait or an illustration project, is the preparation. As I move through the process I keep the client continually informed and encourage communication. If a project requires research, I'm thrilled. I love going in deep, especially if it's a historical project, and gathering material about the times, costumes, architecture and anything else!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Illustration (individual commercial/book): $500-1500 - Prices vary according to complexity and size of final art Murals: Murals are traditionally painted oil on canvas then scaled up and printed in high resolution, large format to apply to substrate (drywall is usually best). 5' x 6' - $1800. 8' x 10' - $2200. 10' x 15' - $3300 Murals can be created larger and I will provide you with an appropriate quote. Portraits (oil on canvas): 11" x 14" - $750. 12" x 16" - $1200. 16" x 20" - $2200. 20" x 24" - $3000.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Most projects begin with sketches. Once my client chooses a sketch I go onto to the final art, and from drawing to color sketches the client, if he/she chooses, will be involved in the process.
