I had a large (15x30) wooden deck in need of repair. Neil came out and then gave me a detailed estimate of the work and materials, with several options. Once we settled on what he was going to do, he ordered materials and got to work demoing the old deck surface. He removed all the old surface and rails and disposed of that material. Once it was open we decided to shore up the joists with additional posts, and to also order fascia for the face of the deck. This was not included in the original contract, but Neil's additional cost was more than fair. Neil showed up every day. He is very meticulous with his work. It's not easy resurfacing a deck on an existing substructure, but he was determined to get everything "squared and right". Everything he did was top quality. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants top quality carpentry at a fair price.

I cannot recommend Neil highly enough! He went WELL above and beyond in all areas: communication, craftsmanship, value, transparency, and adapting on the fly to name a few. He ripped up the rotting wood on my deck and support beams very quickly and carefully made sure the roof was secured before pouring a concrete slap. The access to my backyard was tricky due to a hill and a fenced in yard, and when the concrete truck came, he unexpectedly had to wheelbarrow 200lbs of concrete up a curved staircase with his colleague....with ZERO complaints or any changes to the agreed upon fee. The concrete started to harden so he went the extra mile to smooth it out and level it which probably added an extra half-day's work. Again, he was super communicative and quietly went about his work as I worked from home. I didn't have a concept in mind but he kindly agreed to add in some additional wood work panels. Again, STELLAR attention to detail (see photos). He was thoughtful and caring enough to choose a screen door that has a built-in pet proof mechanism (again without my asking) after he learned that I'm planning on getting a dog in the near future. Compared to other contractors I contacted, at no point in our communication did Neil try to up-sell me and he was honest every step of the way. Go with Neil and rest assured whatever project you have, he will handle with great care, competency, and honesty!

Within a week of contacting Neil, he came to look at our porch and gave us a really reasonable quote for a rehab/reinforcement job. We have an older screened-in porch that needed to be brought up to current standards; larger posts, more joists, structural support, and new hardware. From the time we confirmed the project right up to the morning of the job, Neil was easy to communicate with. The day before the job, we found something on the porch that altered the scope of the original plan, and Neil took it in stride. He grabbed some extra materials and worked hard to complete the project in 1 day, true to plan. His experience was evident, showed by his ability to work on the fly with new information. Best of all, he was honest and fair with his pricing and stayed true to his estimates all along the way. His work was clean and looks great. There were no surprises; only a job well done. You can tell he had our best interests in mind and really cared about the quality of work. A bonus is that him and his crew member were just pleasant guys. For any carpentry work inside or out, I'll be reaching out to Neil.
