FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
They should know that pricing is a flat rate majority of the time. When dealing with many small tasks I sometimes switch it to an hourly rate. This and any discounts can be gone over during the estimate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process is to connect with them and stop by to take a look at their project. While at their house/business I like to go over budget, materials and concerns. Then I can build an estimate around that, the goal is to help Identify problems beforehand. Windows for example: On occasion the wood can be rotted out around the window, Instead of just adding the window install to the estimate I would also add the wood repair. This helps define the true cost of the project and helps us stay within budget.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started this industry under a general contactor, we did every type of work you can think of. Frame to finish. I worked Monday-Saturday 10 hour days for years. Then I started True Vision Carpentry to learn and grow more. I worked almost every weekend from 2023-2025 on side work. I live for this industry and everything I've gave it I'm grateful to say it gave back. I don't have a specific degree or course to aid in my work. But I enjoy what I do. Meaning I spend time analyzing Architectural drawings, the work other builders do and anything construction.
