- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As the owner of Mid Hudson Remodeling, I personally have been involved in residential and commercial construction and remodeling since I was a young teen. Over the past thirty plus years, I have made it a point to gain as much knowledge as possible about all the trades associated with the building industry. I am currently scored 3rd highest in the county on the state exams for building inspector and building supervisor. I hold numerous industry certifications.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
What type of person do you want in your house and around your family while your project is taking place? Many projects take several days, weeks or even months to complete. Trust your gut, if you feel uncomfortable with someone at an initial consultation chances are you do not want to spend any amount of time with this person in your home. * Is the company professional? Will they keep the work site clean organized and safe? Mid Hudson Remodeling is OSHA trained and certified in construction safety standards. We strive to ensure the safety of your family as well as ourselves. * Does the company offer detailed estimates and contracts? Mid Hudson Remodeling will discuss with you every aspect of our estimates, and our contracts are written to meet the stringent guidelines of the NYS Weighs and Means Committee, and we follow every requirement for a construction contract written in NY State. * Does the contractor use sub-contractors and can you trust these subs? Mid Hudson Remodeling from time to time will use sub-contractors. We have built strong relationships with these subs. We work side by side with them and value and trust their workmanship. Mid Hudson Remodeling can supply a list of our trusted sub-contractors if any of them are needed on your project.
