I am a Venezuelan-American pianist, producer and educator playing/teaching a wide variety of genres and styles. I have over 7 years experience teaching students of all ages, from children to adults, and of all levels, from beginners to professionals. All services available in English and Spanish. I strive to provide my students with the knowledge and skills to self-actualize their musical ideas. Curriculums are made-to-order according to each students individual abilities and musical goals. I love exploring a wide variety of musical styles, from classical, jazz, salsa, all the way to hip-hop, and I hope to instill that same appreciation in my students. As a performer I cater to the tastes and preferences of my contractors, providing a quality experience.

I decided to start taking voice lessons again after 10+ years. Jose have made this decision worth every minute. He is very easy and fun to work with. He's also patient and I feel more comfortable singing again after every lesson with him. Everything takes practice and he makes this learaning process awesome.

Jose is an excellent accompanist with vast experience accompanying many instruments and voice types. He is extremely musical and sensitive, a fantastic collaborter with many contributive ideas and tips, and has a natural ear when it comes to playing dynamically for the appropriateness of the collaborative volume. Jose is very deductive and extremely musically trained and when coming across and issue or mistake, he professionally handles making suggestions, giving advise or thinking of a musical idea that can help. He has taught children of all ages and also has his own record label, among many other projects, activities and tours. Jose is extremely well rounded and an absolute pleasure to work with.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For lessons we would first set up a consultation (at a coffee shop or over the phone) to discuss your favorite music, your musical history, and your goals. We could then have a trial lesson for 1/2 off where I would assess what you already know, and how I can best teach you. At which point, we could then schedule a regular weekly lesson time and devise a payment plan. All the best! Jose Look forward to working with You!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Piano Performance and Musical Arts from the internationally renowned Eastman School Of Music, where I also specialized in Electronic Music composition and installation.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been playing the piano and performing since I was four years old. Teaching became a way of manifesting my own musical career when I was in highschool, and I've come to enjoy the art of teaching, finding it as fulfilling as the performance and installation work I do.
