I had an amazing and positive experience with EM Certified Construction. I was looking to have my old porch ripped out and replaced with pavers, however this project would also require 1st bracing / supporting my porch overhang and removing the existing rotted support columns before the new porch construction could begin.
I did my due diligence, obtained 3 separate estimates but before I could start the project, all 3-contractors required that I find a carpenter to handle the bracing / supporting of the porch overhang before their work could even begin, They were not willing to subcontract the carpentry work, or even recommend a carpenter as they did not want the liability for the porch structure.
I tried for several weeks to find a carpenter but could not find one for this project. I then decided as a last resort to try Thumbtack. I downloaded the app typed in what I was looking for and chose EM Certified Construction. Within an hour, Erick contacted me by text, then called. He scheduled my estimate for the same day. He looked over the job indicating that he also does Masonry work. I then asked him for an estimate encompassing both the carpentry work and Paver job. His estimate was very competitive considering his estimate was all inclusive encompassing the carpentry work, and the 3-prior contractors estimates would require I pay separately for a carpenter.
I went back & forth with Erick with my list of endless questions, for which he graciously and promptly responded. We worked together to design my vision. My project started on a Tuesday and Ended on a Friday, He supported my Porch overhang, removed the rotted columns, excavated the old concrete slab & walkway, extended my porch/patio, laid the new pavers and the contrasting border pavers, created a retaining wall, created contrasting steps for 2-separate entrances, repositioned back into place my porch / overhang, installed new support columns, wrapped the columns with Azek (waterproof material), finished the columns with custom cut framing on the top & bottom of the columns and cleaned up the workspace every evening.
His crew is nothing short of amazing, they showed up every day at 8:30-AM and worked thru until 6:00-PM. Erick was onsite daily working and making sure my project was flawless. He is Professional, Skilled, a Great Communicator and Insured. I am so grateful I found this company and have already decided on my next home improvement project. He has changed how I feel about Contractors. You will not be disappointed!

Erick and his team did an amazing job repairing my parents deck! When Erick took apart the wood deck to replace with Trex he immediately discovered the whole foundation needed to be taken down and replaced. He was open and honest and with the additional work he was still able to get the job done.
